Dissolution Temperature Control

Ethylene-Propylene Copolymers:

  • Cut into small pieces
  • Add dry polymer when oil temperature reaches 100°C
  • Maintain oil temperature at 120–130°C for 8–12 hours (varies by equipment) until viscosity stabilizes

Styrene-Isoprene Polymers:

  • Grind dry polymer into particles/powder (<1 cm)
  • Add dry polymer when oil temperature reaches 100°C
  • Maintain oil temperature at 130–140°C for 8–12 hours (varies by equipment) until viscosity stabilizes
