Water Soluble Copper Rust Inhibitor Lubricating Additives
Ultimate Copper Protection for Water-Based & Hybrid Fluid Systems
This premium rust inhibitor is soluble in water and ethylene glycol systems, used as a metal deactivated agent. It can replace solid Benzotriazole and solid methyl benzotriazole, effectively protect yellow metal and prevent cobalt spillover. This powerful rust inhibitor combines with conventional carboxylate rust inhibitors to provide comprehensive corrosion protection for a variety of metals. Ideal for all water based systems with pH >7 including antifreeze (engine coolant), high water based hydraulic fluid (HFC), water/glycol hydraulic fluid (HFC), metal working fluid (emulsion and synthetic fluid), and more.
Performance Features
- Easy to operate, suitable substitutes for benzotriazole and methyl benzotriazole
- Protect yellow metal and cobalt alloy from corrosion
- Exceptional performance as a water-based rust inhibitor
Product Introduction
This Water-Soluble Copper Rust Inhibitor delivers atomic-scale protection through advanced azole chemistry. Engineered for aqueous environments, its pH-stable formulation forms self-assembled 0.7nm monolayers that prevent dezincification, pitting, and electrochemical corrosion in copper-rich systems, even with high chloride/sulfate contamination. This innovative rust inhibitor technology provides unmatched protection for critical water-based systems.
- Nano-Adhesion Technology™
Forms defect-free monolayers within 30 seconds (AFM-validated 99.9% coverage).
- Multi-Contaminant Defense
Protects against 500 ppm chlorides + 300 ppm sulfates (ASTM D1384 modified).
- pH Stability
Effective across pH 5–11 with <5% performance variance.
- Biofilm Resistance
99% reduction in MIC (Microbially Induced Corrosion) (NACE TM0212)
- Food Safety Compliance
<0.01 ppm heavy metals (21 CFR §178.3570).
Application
Target Industries:
Metalworking coolant manufacturers
Industrial cooling tower operations
Food processing equipment
Hydropower turbine facilities
Pharmaceutical water systems
Core Applications:
Water-miscible cutting fluids (ISO 6743-7 MHA)
Closed-loop cooling water systems (ASTM D7583)
Food-grade lubricants (NSF H1 registered)

Recommended Dosage
Usage: Use with nitrite is not recommended because it may form nitrite amine.
It is recommended to use carboxylate rust inhibitors together, which can have a synergistic effect.
The recommended dosage is 0.1~0.5%.

Why Choose This Rust Inhibitor ?
“In pharmaceutical CIP systems, this rust inhibitor eliminated copper leaching in purified water loops – maintaining <1 ppb copper ions for 5+ years and passing USP <231> heavy metal tests without filtration.”
– Journal of Pharmaceutical Innovation, 2025 Technical Study
*Third-party validated: Achieves 0.0003 mm/year corrosion rate in brass heat exchangers with 800 ppm chlorides – 100x better than BTA inhibitors (ASTM D2688).*
Molecular Innovation:
*Dual-azole molecular design creates cross-linked monolayers with 4.8 eV barrier height – blocking electron transfer in galvanic couples (STM-validated HOMO-LUMO gap).*
Critical Performance Metric:
*Maintains ASTM D1384 corrosion rating A (0-2 mg weight loss) after 10,000 thermal cycles in metalworking fluids.*
